Yet the mind is a lot more powerful than the most powerful computer known to man. If we can learn to utilize our brains by another ten to twenty percent of its total capacity the results would be truly amazing.
Even so, how well a subject responds to hypnosis does depend on the way that the subject responds to the suggestions made by the hypnotist. In addition, the subject’s own beliefs and their trust as well as confidence in the hypnotist also play a role in whether or not the hypnosis will work or not.

Normally, a person that wishes to quit smoking will find it almost impossible to achieve their goals through using conventional methods. However, if these same people are hypnotized into believing and being instructed to quit smoking the chances of their finally kicking the butt will improve radically.
One of the simplest hypnosis methods being employed today is the progressive relaxation method. This method requires that you begin by asking the subject to lie or even sit comfortably in a room in which the lights are dimmed. You must ensure turning off cell phones and pagers so as to have uninterrupted session with the subject. Now, you will need to start by asking the subject to close their eyes and at the same time imagine being in a happy place that is secure and comfortable. Speak in a slow and measured manner and keep your voice soothing as well as calm and which should also be in sync with the subject’s breathing.
Now, you have to ensure that the person is in a relaxed state after which you must tell him that they are standing high up on the staircase and that they must now walk down the steps slowly and carefully.
One method that can prove to be very effective in helping you to hypnotize people is to learn to relax the subject’s eyes which in turn need to be kept shut throughout the initial induction into the hypnotic state. Once the subject has relaxed their eyes you have to encourage a more relaxed state of being which should permeate the entire body of the subject.
It is now up to you to use the subject’s body language and breathing as cues to start making the suggestions for which the hypnosis exercise has been undertaken. To end the hypnosis you can suggest to the subject that they are now resting comfortably and that they should wait till they are brought back to full consciousness.
Of course, there are several other methods that are worth exploring as well. However, using the relaxation of the eyes method is most effective and also the most used. Of course, after you have learned how to hypnotize, you can then pick a method that you feel the most comfortable with.
