As Africa is the poorest continent on the planet its not surprising that it needs help not only from other countries and the world bank but also at grass roots level which is where volunteers are necessary.

Volunteering is so unique in the ways it offers opportunities to so many people in so many fields of work. You can participate in a wide range of activities from teaching English to working with animals to working as a journalist reporting on breaking news stories in Africa. The diverse range of activities you can participate in is the draw and the pull to many people worldwide to offer their services as a volunteer.

Do you think if you were put in the shoes of a poor African you would be able to handle the poverty better? Probably not is the answer to that question. This is why volunteer help is so important, without it a lot of poor people would continue to struggle with no positive ending in site.  We are the only people who can make a difference, make a change for the good of the world. The experience you gain from helping the poor and needy is outstanding and something which should be treasured forever.
